#13 Hotel Transylvania
Monsters need vacations too, which is the premise behind this sweet animated feature starring the voices of Adam Sandler as Count Dracula and Selena Gomez as his daughter, Mavis. It’s a family-friendly film everyone can enjoy this Halloween.
#12 Corpse Bride
Corpse Bride is a 2005 stop-motion animated musical fantasy film, directed by Mike Johnson and Tim Burton with a screenplay by John August, Caroline Thompson and Pamela Pettler based on characters created by Burton and Carlos Grangel. The plot is set in a fictional Victorian era village in England.
#11 The Conjuring
is a 2013 American supernatural horror film directed by James Wan and written by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes. It is the inaugural film in the Conjuring Universe franchise.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga star as Ed and Lorraine Warren, paranormal investigators and authors associated with prominent cases of haunting. Their purportedly real-life reports inspired The Amityville Horror story and film franchise. The Warrens come to the assistance of the Perron family, who experienced increasingly disturbing events in their farmhouse in Rhode Island in 1971.
#10 Scream
Released on December 20, it follows the character of Sidney Prescott (Campbell), a high school student in the fictional town of Woodsboro, California, who becomes the target of a mysterious killer in a Halloween costume known as Ghostface. The film combines comedy and mystery with the violence of the slasher genre to satirize the clichés of the horror movie genre.
 #9 Final Destination
The film focuses on a small group of people who escape imminent death when an individual (the protagonist) has a sudden premonition and warns them that everyone will die in a terrible accident with mass victims. After avoiding their predicted deaths, the survivors are killed one by one in bizarre accidents caused by an invisible force, creating complicated chains of cause and effect, resembling Rube Goldberg machines in their complexity, and then reading omens sent by another invisible entity in order to prevent their deaths again.
#8 Monster House
No adult believes when three teenagers say that there is a house in the neighborhood that is a dangerous creature. With Halloween approaching, they have to find a way to destroy the house before it harms innocent children.
#7 Scooby-Doo: The Movie
The plot revolves around Mystery Incorporated, a group of four young adults and a mystery-solving dog who comes together after a two-year separation to investigate a mystery at a popular horror-themed beach resort.
#6 Halloween
The plot tells about a mental patient who was committed to a sanitarium for murdering his teenage sister on Halloween night when he was six years old. Fifteen years later, he escapes and returns to his hometown, where he stalks a female babysitter and her friends, while under pursuit by his psychiatrist.
#5 The Haunting of Hill House
The Haunting of Hill House is an American supernatural horror drama television series created and directed by Mike Flanagan, produced by Amblin Television and Paramount Television, for Netflix, and serves as the first entry in The Haunting anthology series. It is loosely based on the 1959 novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson. The plot alternates between two timelines, following five adult siblings whose paranormal experiences at Hill House continue to haunt them in the present day, and flashbacks depicting events leading up to the eventful night in 1992 when the family fled from the mansion.
#4 American Horror Story: Murder House
It centers on the Harmon family: Dr. Ben Harmon, Vivien and their daughter Violet, who move from Boston to Los Angeles after Vivien has a miscarriage and Ben has an affair. They move into a restored mansion, unaware that the house is haunted by the ghosts of its former residents and their victims.
#3 It: Chapter One
is a 2017 American supernatural horror film based on Stephen King's 1986 novel of the same name. The film tells the story of seven children in Derry, Maine, who are terrorized by the eponymous being, only to face their own personal demons in the process.
#2 Stranger Things
If for some reason you’ve missed the Stranger Things wave, October is the perfect month for a binge of the popular supernatural series set in the 1980s. The series premiered on Netflix on July 15, 2016. Set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, the first season focuses on the investigation into the disappearance of a young boy amid supernatural events occurring around the town, including the appearance of a girl with psychokinetic abilities.
#1 The Haunting of Bly Manor
The story tells of a young governess hired by a man to look after his niece and nephew at the family country house after they fall into his care. Arriving at the Bly estate, she begins to see apparitions that proceed to haunt the premises.
