In order to honor women from all over the world, we at World Paint by Numbers have separated some paintings where the protagonism is feminine. The year was 1909, the first alleged observance of Women's Day, called "National Women's Day", was held on February 28, 1909, in New York City, organized by the Socialist Party of America at the suggestion of activist Theresa Malkiel.

This was one of the first struggles for women's rights - the famous suffragette movement, which started in 1897 with the foundation of the National Union for Female Suffrage by British educator Millicent Fawcett. However, in the United Kingdom, female voting was allowed from 1918.

June 23, 1972: Title IX of the Education Amendments is signed into law by President Richard Nixon. It states “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."
