How to organize your place for a great painting by numbers

Do you love painting by numbers and wonder how to keep the space clean and organized for your hobby? Have you found the mess around you demotivating to the point of affecting your productivity levels?

Although the act of painting can involve making some kind of mess, it does not mean that we should be fine with our studios in a state of constant chaos.

Disorganized tolerance varies widely from person to person but our studios are an extension of ourselves and our art, and deserve attention.

Once you've decided what your goals are in painting, it's time to build your space.

🎨  Think about the layout

Plan your layout in a way that works best so that you can easily access what you need. If you prefer a professional touch, use shelves or cabinets to organize your materials. 

Make sure that function and beauty come together by combining functionality with elegant furniture and decor.

🎨 Only the necessary

An important part of organizing your art space should be getting rid of all the things you don't need or will never use. You probably know if you have a tendency to accumulate, in which case you'll have to spend some extra effort to really recognize that you don't need all those Styrofoam balls.

🎨 Have functional objects

There is no need to spend a lot of money on fancy decorative boxes. You can use cans and pots to store pens, pencils, markers and brushes (and decorate them yourself, if you want).

You can also find all types of containers at value stores and thrift stores. These types of open containers ensure that your tools are always visible and easily accessible.

Make sure you have enough containers so that you can really organize all your creative instruments with plenty of space. That way, you don't have to struggle to pile pens into full mugs or waste time trying to find the right marker.

🎨 Avoiding accidental damage

Some people prefer to work on only one project at a time. Others have six or twelve different things going on. Regardless, you should always be able to clean the work surface and also protect it from accidental damage.

🎨 Painting in small places

Many of us lack space. Perhaps you have only one corner, instead of an entire room to use for your painting. In that case, vertical storage is sure to be your new best friend. Installing shelves, cubicles or racks is a great way to organize the environment without taking up too much space.

A great darling of the artists are the pegboards to use the walls as storage, without protruding as much as the shelves.

They are very useful for hanging tools and buckets, but you will need the right accessories: straight and curved hooks.

🎨 Hanging things

Hanging things is an incredibly flexible type of storage that you can reorganize as you see fit, which is great!

Another object of great utility is to use towel racks or curtain rods.

You can also hang string or wire on the wall and use clothespins to display some of your work! It is easy to rotate what you are looking at, as desired.

Smaller door organizers are great for pens, markers, glues and inks as well.

🎨 Tagging

Sometimes our environment is not constantly tidy, so here is an infallible tip to avoid constant disorganization, labeling containers.

By labeling all of your storage containers, you not only know where to find everything, but you can also easily tell where to store everything. Miraculously, all objects remain separate and useful.

🎨 Once it's clean, keep it up!

Once you have a system for storing all the materials and art projects that you have decided to keep, you need to try a little to maintain it.

At the end of the day, or when you're done working on a project, take a few minutes to put everything back in place. Clean the work surface and apply all paints. This is time well spent!

Tomorrow, when you sit down to create something, you'll have space to work and you'll be able to easily find everything you want for yourself.

Best of all, you're more likely to do more, because your creative space will be much easier to use. Each minute used to organize will be an hour you will have to paint.
